When all else fails — go back to what you know. For me it is the doodle. Always a great way to clear the head and get pumped to get back on the computer. I started to play with this stencil doodle late this morning. Looking forward to using it and a few others in my Hello books.

Just ran across this in Austin Howe’s book Designers Don’t Read :: a short excerpt and quote from James McMullan.
” Drawing brings into balance the literacy and graphic aspects of our design. When we draw well, we can use it as a kind of alchemical process to distill words ideas and image ideas down to whatever really works between them.”
